Gyrenes Spoil Mariners Homecoming

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team (6-11, 2-7) lost 3-2 to Ave Maria on Saturday afternoon.

The Gyrenes (10-10, 5-4) took the first two sets of the game in dominating fashion, 25-14 and 25-18 before the Mariners were able to find their footing in the third set and come away with a 25-23 win.

Coastal then decided it was its turn to flex its muscles as they won 25-15 to force a fifth set.

Ave Maria jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead in the fifth and did not look back, taking the final set 15-11 to avoid the reverse sweep and get above .500 in SUN play.
