BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The No. 15 Coastal Georgia men's tennis team (1-0, 1-0) is set to face Assumption College (4-3, 0-0) and Wartburg College (4-10, 0-0) on Friday, Mar. 3 at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C. as part of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest.
The Mariners are coming off a 4-3 win over No. 22 SCAD-Savannah on Wednesday night. Head Coach
Zack Rogers was excited about the way the guys battled against a tough team in their first match of the season.
"Super hard match for the guys, starting off your first match of the season against a nationally ranked team is always tough," Rogers said. "I was really proud of the way we came out and played in doubles. Singles was a dog fight. We were lucky to come out with a win today and hopefully we can build on it and keep things going in the right direction from here."
This will be the start of seven matches in eight days for the Mariners as they take part in the PTR Spring Tennis Fest.
The newcomers made good first impressions against the Bees.
Santiago Speranza and
Trey Maust won their singles lines at No. 5 and 6 while
Aymeric Bruno helped take down SCAD's No. 1 doubles line as he teamed up with
Lucas Landaluce.
