Men's Tennis Season Ends with Loss to Rams

MOBILE, Ala. - The Coastal Georgia Men's Tennis team fell in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament on Monday morning, losing to the Rams of Mobile by a final of 4-3.

The Mariners (8-9) got off to a great start by winning the doubles point at lines one and three. Switching things up, it was Adrien Guye and Kevin Leuenberger who were at line one as they won 6-4 with Santiago Speranza and Lucas Landaluce taking line three by a final of 6-3.

With the Mariners in a good position needing just three lines for the win, they finished two sets in quick order as Leuenberger took care of business at line four winning 7-5, 6-2, while Guye took the second line 6-2, 6-2. Now just needing one more match to secure the win, the Rams (18-3) stormed back starting with Joao Pedro Okano finishing off Landaluce at line one. Felix Arroyo Viglino took the first set in his match 6-4, but fell two straight times 4-6, and 0-6 to lose line three. Sergio Ruiz Ramiro took line five, and William Crowe battled with Gonzalo Tano to three sets and ultimately won the point.

The Mariners finish their 2023-24 season with an 8-9 record and a 4-3 record in Sun Conference play.
