Coastal Georgia Tennis Sweeps Ave Maria, Men and Women Both Win 4-0

Coastal Georgia tennis teams swept Ave Maria (FL) on Friday, with both the men's and women's squads posting 4-0 victories to continue their strong spring performances.

Men's Tennis: Coastal Georgia 4, Ave Maria 0

The men's team improved to 9-2 on the season with a comprehensive victory that saw them claim the doubles point and win three of the completed singles matches.

Salvador Pons Medina and Artur Pons Medina dominated at No. 1 doubles, defeating Pedro Garcia and Joao Felipe Almeida 6-2. Enzo Barauna and Max Kirmayr clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Gianmarco Punzo and Gavin Palladino at No. 3 doubles. Geronimo Gonzalez Dolci and Caspar Grylls fell 1-5 to Andreu Solvia and Julien Mourad at No. 2 doubles.

In singles competition, Gonzalo Tano delivered a dominant performance at No. 2 singles, overwhelming Gianmarco Punzo 6-0, 6-4. Salvador Pons Medina's match at No. 3 singles was suspended with him leading Pedro Garcia 6-3, 4-3. Leonard Daguinot secured the clinching point at No. 5 singles, defeating Julien Mourad 6-3, 6-1.

Max Kirmayr capped the victory with a double bagel at No. 6 singles, blanking Gavin Palladino 6-0, 6-0. Artur Pons Medina's match at No. 1 singles was suspended with him leading Joao Felipe Almeida 6-0, 5-7, 1-0, while Gonzalez Dolci's match at No. 4 singles was suspended with Andreu Solvia leading 6-4, 4-4.

Women's Tennis: Coastal Georgia 4, Ave Maria 0

The women's team extended their winning streak to six consecutive matches with a decisive victory that clinched when they secured the doubles point and earned one singles win.

Gabriella Rodrigues and Karlie Scott Kersey defeated Maria Hofmeister and Danna Nunez 5-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Luna Feillon and Gabriela Miteva overwhelmed Melana Mourad and Elizabeth Pince 6-1 at No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point.

Karlie Scott Kersey delivered the lone completed singles victory at No. 1, dominating Danna Nunez 6-1, 0-1 before the match was called. Gabriela Miteva's match at No. 2 singles was suspended with Maria Hofmeister leading 6-3, 3-1, while Luna Feillon's match at No. 3 singles was suspended with Elizabeth Pince leading 6-1, 4-1.
