The College of Coastal Georgia women's tennis team earned a 4-1 victory over New College of Florida on Saturday, April 11, with a strong performance across both doubles and singles play.
Doubles
Coastal claimed the doubles point in a split effort across the three courts. Gabriella Rodrigues and Karlie Scott Kersey delivered the biggest performance of the round, edging Emilia Schulte and Itza Rogel in a tight two-set battle at No. 1, taking both sets by a 7-6 margin. Freya Zayyan and Manon Baudet followed with a dominant 6-0 win at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point, while Luna Feillon and Gabriela Miteva dropped a 4-6 decision at No. 2.
Singles
The Mariners continued their momentum in singles, winning four of six courts. Gabriela Miteva was dominant at No. 2, rolling to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Camila Cardona-Carballosa. Manon Baudet and Freya Zayyan were equally impressive, with Baudet winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Zayyan posting a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 6. Luna Feillon was competitive at No. 3, winning the first set 6-1 before the match concluded, and Gabriella Rodrigues held a commanding lead at No. 4 when play ended.
New College's lone point came at No. 1 singles, where Madeleine Chellas defeated Karlie Scott Kersey.
