Mariners Defeat New College Of Florida 4-0

The College of Coastal Georgia women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday morning, sweeping New College of Florida 4-0 at home in Brunswick, continuing to build momentum.

Doubles

Coastal was in complete control from the opening round, claiming the doubles point by sweeping all three courts without dropping a set. Gabriella Rodrigues and Karlie Scott Kersey set the tone at No. 1, handling Emilia Schulte and Itza Rogel with a convincing 6-3 victory. At No. 3, Freya Zayyan and Manon Baudet were lights out, shutting out Vanesa Streitova and Alexandra Sibrikova 6-0 to clinch the doubles point for the Mariners. Luna Feillon and Gabriela Miteva rounded out the sweep at No. 2, edging Madeleine Chellas and Camila Cardona-Carballosa in a tight 5-4 battle to give Coastal a clean sweep of the doubles round.

Singles

The Mariners carried their doubles momentum straight into singles, continuing to apply pressure across all six courts. Gabriela Miteva was dominant at No. 2, dispatching Cardona-Carballosa 6-1, 6-1 in emphatic fashion to give Coastal an early singles point. Freya Zayyan followed shortly after with an equally impressive 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Gia Rizzo at No. 6, and Felicia Elixmann made it three in a row with another shutout, blanking Alexandra Sibrikova 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.

Luna Feillon was sharp at No. 3, cruising through the first set 6-1 against Emilia Schulte before finishing off the match in the second set to add another point to the Coastal ledger. Karlie Scott Kersey won the opening set 6-4 at No. 1 against Madeleine Chellas before the match concluded with the result already decided, while Gabriella Rodrigues and Itza Rogel traded sets at No. 4 in one of the afternoon's more competitive exchanges before play was halted.
