Lecanto, Fl. – The College of Coastal Georgia women's golf team finished 5^th at the Battle at Black Diamond, hosted by the New College of Florida. The Mariners completed play with a collective tournament total score of +111, scoring +34 over par in round one, +44 in round two and +33 in round three. Individually, senior Madelyn Taylor finished third overall with a three-round score of +5.

Coastal Georgia played consistently at the 6,050-yard Black Diamond Ranch course in west Florida, with the Mariners performing their best on a final-day round three on Tuesday afternoon. The top five result carries over the positive momentum the group established from a top-half team finish at the Coastal Georgia Women's Golf Fall Invitational back in early September.

"The team played great, but we're still working on getting our third and fourth score down," explained CCGA women's golf head coach Nicole Johns.

Taylor had yet another feature performance, earning third place in the tournament at +5 over par. She, in both round one and round three, ended +1, which were two of the top five rounds in the entire event. At the Coastal Georgia Women's Fall Golf Invitational, Taylor also finished third overall with a total score of +4. Additionally, Brianna Domagala earned a top 25 finish.

"Madelyn played great. She finished third again this week, giving her back-to-back all-tournament teams," Johns continued. "Bri had a great round on Tuesday, shooting one over."

The Mariners will resume their fall schedule on Tuesday, September 29^th at the Invite at Innisbrook, hosted by Dalton State, in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
