Jekyll Island, Ga. – The Coastal Georgia Women's Golf team, with senior
Madelyn Taylor leading the way for the Mariners, earned a top-half finish at the 2026 Coastal Georgia Women's Fall Invitational on Monday, September 7
th at the Great Dunes Golf Course on Jekyll Island. At the two-day tournament, the Mariners finished 7
th in the 15-team field.
Coastal Georgia ended play with a 966 composite stroke score, with team totals of +35, +28 and +39 for a +102 total through the three-round event.
"I think we did really well, especially because we have such a young team," explained CCGA head women's golf coach
Nicole Johns. "We do have one senior, but everyone else is a sophomore or freshman, so I think we did pretty well."
Taylor, from Baxley, Georgia, earned third place honors individually with a +4 overall finish. Sophomore
Brianna Domagala, of Enigma, recorded a top ten performance, ending the tournament at +13, which included an even par effort in round two.
A top three finish for Taylor, who had nine birdies at the tournament, is a continuation of her momentum from the season prior after earning second-team NAIA All-American honors a year ago.
"She did great. She had a really good day yesterday and a good day today as well," Johns added.
Southeastern (+16), Palm Beach State (+61), William Carey (+69), The Citadel (+80) and Truett McConnell (+80) rounded out the top five at the 5,964-yard course. Abbey Peterson, a sophomore for the Fire, was the low medalist at +1 overall.
Coastal Georgia will next travel to Lecanto, Fl. on September 21
st and 22
nd for the Battle at Black Diamond hosted by New College of Florida.
