High School Career

Ellis attended Gray Collegiate Academy in South Carolina, where he established himself as one of the premier big men in the state. Over his final two seasons, he amassed an impressive 110 blocks while nearly averaging a double-double with 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. His dominant performance earned him All-State honors during his senior campaign. He garnered All-Region recognition in both his junior and senior seasons, demonstrating consistent excellence throughout his high school career. At the conclusion of his senior year, he was selected to compete in the prestigious North Carolina/South Carolina All-Star game, recognized as one of the top five seniors in SCHSL Class AA. His impact on his team's success was significant, as they compiled an impressive fifty-six and twelve overall record during his two seasons, including a fifteen and one mark in region play. During his senior year, his team achieved perfection in region competition with an unblemished eight and zero record against in-region opponents. His combination of shot-blocking ability, rebounding prowess, and winning pedigree positioned him as a highly accomplished prospect ready for collegiate competition.
