Biography
Sophomore Season (2024-25)
Niya appeared in twenty-eight games and earned three starting assignments during her sophomore campaign with the Eagles. She averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while logging 13.8 minutes per contest. She shot 33.8 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from three-point range throughout the season. Her improved playmaking ability was evident as she distributed thirty-nine assists while recording fourteen steals on the defensive end. She pulled down fifty total rebounds, including fourteen offensive boards, and contributed three blocks. Her assist total showed significant growth from her freshman year as she continued to develop as a distributor. Throughout the season, she maintained an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.4 while demonstrating her ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game as she gained more experience in the program.
Freshman Season (2023-24)
Niya made an immediate impact during her freshman season with Reinhardt University, appearing in thirty games while coming off the bench in every contest. She averaged 5.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 42.7 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from three-point range. Her best performance came at St. Andrews on February 10, when she exploded for eighteen points on eight-of-eleven shooting from the field, including two-of-three from beyond the arc. She also demonstrated her scoring ability with sixteen points against Kentucky Christian on January 18, connecting on six-of-nine from the field and four-of-seven from three-point range. Throughout the season, she proved to be a reliable scorer off the bench, recording fifteen points on two separate occasions against Point on November 4 and St. Andrews on January 2. She was particularly effective at the free-throw line, converting twenty-five of thirty-five attempts for 71.4 percent. Beyond her scoring, she contributed twenty-seven assists and twenty steals while pulling down fifty-four rebounds in just 12.9 minutes per game. Her efficiency and productivity in limited minutes showcased her potential and provided a strong foundation for continued growth in the program.
High School Career
She attended Comprehensive High School in Elberton, Georgia, where she developed into a skilled five-foot-three guard ready for collegiate competition.
