Mariners fall at Brewton-Parker

Mount Vernon, Ga. – Despite placing four players in double figures, the College of Coastal Georgia men's basketball team dropped a 91-84 decision at Brewton-Parker on Thursday night.

The loss in the Southern States Athletic Conference was the 11th in a row for the Mariners (3-15 overall, 1-6 league).

Brewton-Parker (11-5, 4-3) continued its solid season with the victory.

The Mariners trailed 47-39 at intermission. They outscored the Barons 45-44 in the second half but that wasn't enough to make up their deficit.

The Mariners shot 50.8 percent (31-61) from the field, but connected on just three of their 16 attempts from the three-point arc.

Obie Foreman led the Mariners with 22 points while Reggie Burke and Darrean Wyatt both recorded double-doubles for the team in the loss. Burke finished with 13 points and 10 assists while Wyatt also scored 13 points and led the Mariners with 12 rebounds.

Andrew Reid finished with 17 points for Coastal Georgia.

Warren LeBeauf, who is averaging just over 15 points a game, led all scorers with 36 points for the Barons on 16-of-25 shooting. He made 15 two-point buckets, a three-pointer and was 3-for-3 at the foul line.

Coastal Georgia returns home to host Mobile on Saturday. Tip time is 4 p.m. following the earlier women's game.
