No. 21 Mariners Get Walked-Off in Game One Against No. 16 Fire

LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 21 Coastal Georgia softball team (26-6, 11-2) fell to No. 16 Southeastern (24-9, 12-1) by a score of 1-0 in an instant classic that went to eight innings.

For the Fire, Claire Sekinger shutdown the Mariners offense as she allowed just three hits and struck out six batters. On the Mariners side, Hayley Dickerson pitched solid as well. She struck out four batters, allowed 10 hits and one run which was unearned.

Bryce Peacock, Malarie Peacock and Melani Jones were the only Mariners able to get on base in the pitching dual.

Southeastern now moves into first place in the Sun Conference with a chance to secure the number one spot tomorrow while the Mariners will look to win both games in order to do the same.
