BRUNSWICK, Ga. - It's the final week of the 2024-25 regular season for the College of Coastal Georgia men's basketball team as they prepare to host the Webber International Warriors on Wednesday for senior day followed by a road trip to West Palm Beach, Fla. for a matchup with the Keiser Seahawks on Saturday to wrap up their regular season.
The Mariners (7-16, 4-10 SUN) come in on a six game losing streak and desperately need a win to right the ship in the final week of the season. The last win for the Mariners was back on January 25 when they defeated Warner at home.
It has been a string of bad defeats for CCGA as they have dropped their last three matchups by 30 or more points, including a 100-49 loss to the same Seahawks team they face on Saturday.
Salle Wilson has done his best to step up in the place of McArthur who is out with a season ending injury, as the senior is averaging 14.5 points per night along with Preston Crisp who is putting in 12.3 of his own.
The Warriors (6-19, 2-12 SUN) come in on a losing streak of their own, dropping their previous three matchups, most recently a 72-69 loss to the New College of Florida Mighty Banyan last Saturday. Orlando Thomas is not just one of the best players on the court for the Warriors, he's one of the best in the conference as he scores 19.9 points per game which ranks third in the conference. Last time against the Mariners, Thomas put up 33 points on 11-13 shooting in Babson Park. Jerry Carraway Jr, who has only played in seven games so far this season, is still averaging 13.3 points per game this season as well.
For the Seahawks (22-4, 12-2 SUN), they come in as one of the hottest teams in the conference on an eight game winning streak with their last loss coming back on January 18 against Florida Memorial. The Seahawks do have a trip scheduled to Miami to take on the Lions on Wednesday before hosting the Mariners in the regular season finale. Calvin Sirmans and Vincent Miszkiewicz are the two headed monster for Keiser as both average over 14 points per game on the season.
Prior to tip off against Webber, the College of Coastal Georgia will honor their five seniors: Salle Wilson, Tre Moore, David Felix, D'Andre Jefferson, and Jamill Giles. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday followed by a 4:00 p.m. tip off on Saturday.
