The Mariners (1-5, 0-1 SUN) behind one point already due to a lack of players, fought hard to secure the doubles point for an early lead. While line 1 dominated, line two brought home the point with a gritty 7-5 win. In singles play, the first three lines dominated singles play to give the Mariners the win as Kersey, Malatini, and Elixmann all won allowing just five sets collectively to give CCGA their first win of the season. The win was also interim head coach
Christie Arias' first win as the head coach of the women's program.
The Mariners return to action tomorrow as they travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C. for a double header with Milligan and Lawrence Tech beginning at 12:30 p.m.
