Brunswick, Ga. – College of Coastal Georgia men's basketball forward Ellis Graham has been named the Week 2 Defensive MVP nationally by NAIA Hoops Report. The redshirt sophomore from New Zion, South Carolina recorded five blocks, and altered numerous more, in a 96-73 win for the Mariners over visiting Andrew College.

Graham helped limit the Fighting Tigers to just 33.3% shooting from the floor Saturday afternoon. In addition to his five blocks, Graham recorded eight rebounds and scored 14 points for Coastal Georgia.

"Super excited for Ellis to get this recognition. He has been working a ton all summer long on his game, being able to be a multi-faceted player and obviously he is a defensive difference-maker," explained CCGA head men's basketball coach Tim MacAllister. "Can do a ton of things on the defensive end that effects the opponent's offense, including blocking shots, altering shots, rebounding. Really proud of this honor for him and excited for what he's going to do going forward."

Up next for Graham and the Mariners is a road contest at Reinhardt at 7:30pm on Friday, November 6th in Waleska, Georgia as part of the Coke Classic.
