TIFTON, Ga. — The College of Coastal Georgia softball team picked up a dominant 7-3 road victory over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Friday afternoon, with a strong pitching performance from Rylee Mills and a pair of clutch offensive performances from Brooke Perdue leading the way.
Mills was nothing short of brilliant in the circle, spinning six scoreless innings to improve to 3-0 on the season. The junior right-hander scattered just three hits, walked one, and struck out three, throwing a highly efficient 66 pitches before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Kate Owens came on in the seventh and allowed three runs before Emilia Clemons closed things out with a perfect third of an inning to earn her first save of the year.
Offensively, the Mariners broke the game open with a four-run fourth inning that proved to be the difference. Kaitlyn Carolino got things started by reaching on a single and promptly stealing second. Mills came through in a big spot with a run-scoring triple to give CCGA its first lead, and Mackenzie Southerland followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0. Perdue then delivered the knockout blow, crushing a two-run home run — her first of the season — to push the advantage to 4-0 and send a clear message to the Stallions.
Perdue finished as the offensive star of the game, going 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and five RBI on the afternoon. Her five-RBI day was built on two separate extra-base hits, the second coming in the seventh inning when she laced a bases-clearing double to break open what had become a tighter game and give CCGA its final margin of seven runs.
Mills also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI while scoring twice, further demonstrating her two-way value to this team. Carolino was active on the bases throughout, finishing with a hit and a stolen base, while Southerland added a hit and an RBI in her efficient 4-for-4 outing at the plate across the lineup card.
The Mariners collected nine hits on the day and committed no errors defensively, a sharp contrast to Abraham Baldwin's three miscues that helped prolong several CCGA at-bats. With the win, Coastal Georgia continues to build momentum early in the 2026 campaign behind the reliable arm of Mills, who now has not surrendered an earned run through her first three decisions of the season.
