Chris Jackson joined the Coastal Georgia men’s basketball team as an assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 school year.

Jackson comes to Coastal Georgia after spending three years as head boys coach at Monroe Area in Walton County, where he led the Purple Hurricanes to the state playoffs all three seasons including two berths in the Sweet 16.

Jackson guided the Canes to 48 wins in three years after the program won just 10 games in the two previous seasons combined prior to his arrival. He had 10 players who signed with colleges during his time with the program.

Previously, Jackson was the associate head coach at Palm Beach Gardens High from 2009 through 2014. He also was a strength and conditioning intern at Georgia Tech from August 2008 through June 2009 and worked with the football, men’s and women’s basketball and swimming teams for the Yellow Jackets.

Jackson began his coaching career as the associated head coach at Seminole Ridge High, where he worked from 2005-2007.

He played college basketball at Palm Beach State, where he was named all-conference and helped the team to a 28-4 record in the 1999-2000 season. He served as team captain in the 2000-2001 season.

He would play at Central Methodist University his junior and senior seasons, winning the team’s top newcomer award as a junior before serving as team captain as a senior.

Jackson completed his bachelor’s degree in criminology at the Florida State University and later earned a master’s degree in sports health science at Life University.
