Lanajia Ernest served her first season at the Coastal Georgia student assistant coach in 2012-13.

She finished out her college career last season with the Mariners, becoming the first Coastal Georgia player to record a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the season finale against Hiwassee College. She was the team's second-leading scorer with 11.3 points and also averaged 6.9 rebounds. She started at point guard in all 27 games she played.

Prior to transferring to CCGA, she played two seasons at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockon, Calif., and one season at Georgia State. She was all-conference at Delta and also helped the team to a runner-up finish at the state tournament.

Ernest played high school basketball at Sheldon High in Sacremento, Calif. She was a four-year letter winner and a former all-area player.
