Box Score

MOBILE, Ala.- The Coastal Georgia women's basketball team (0-1(0-0)) fell in its first game of the season to the University of Mobile (1-2) 58-53. Guard Sonia Forney kicked off her senior season strong recording 22 points and 12 rebounds, both of which led the team.

Fellow senior Joyce Jordan was second on the team in scoring with 13 points and also snagged nine rebounds. Freshmen Gabby Litvak and Andranique Voorhies combined for 12 points in their collegiate debut. Voorhies also grabbed five rebounds and led the game with two blocks. Litvak, a left-handed sharpshooter, hit two threes and showed improvement on the defensive side, recording a blocked shot and a steal.

The Rams were led by Erica Jones who finished with 21 points and Mary Denman Luker who finished with 13 points.

As a team, the Rams outrebounded the Mariners 49-36 and turned the ball over just 10 times to the Mariner's 18.

Both teams struggled to shoot the ball and finished with percentages in the low 30s from the field. Combined, both teams shot 8-38 from the three-point, causing them to force the ball inside. Of the game's 111 points, 62 of them came from inside the paint.

Mobile led the whole game, but not by much. Each Mariner's run was met with a run by the Rams.
