Mariners Struggle in Season Debut

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia women's basketball opened up its season with a 60-45 loss to Brewton-Parker on Saturday night.

The Mariners (0-1) shot just 30 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three. The Barons (1-0) didn't shoot any better though going 32.2 percent from the field and just 16 percent from three.

A big difference in the game was the free throw discrepancy. Brewton-Parker shot 31 shots from the charity to the Mariners 13. The Barons made only 18 of their attempts though but still enough to put them over the top.

Coastal Georgia did have 48 rebounds to the Barons 33 which was a bright spot for them.
