Men's Basketball Open Up Season Against Middle Georgia State

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia men's basketball team will begin its 2023-24 campaign against Middle Georgia State on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Howard Coffin Gym.

The Mariners are looking to build on a strong preseason and start off the season with a big home win.

The Knights also begin their season on Tuesday and will look to repeat their performance from last year.

HISTORY-

The Mariners are 5-13 against the Knights all-time, including two losses to them last season. Coastal will look to avoid a three-game losing streak to Middle Georgia on Tuesday.

2023-24 THINGS TO WATCH-

The Mariners welcome back Nick Jiles who lead the team in scoring and assists last season on his way to being named Second Team All-Sun Conference.
Layton Veon also returns, and will look to make a big leap this season after a great offseason for Coastal.
AJ Muller, Aaron Daniels, Jamill Giles, Anthony Ross and Tre Moore all return as well and will look to assume bigger roles with six freshmen on the roster.
Along with the six freshmen, Head Coach Jesse Watkins also brought in three transfers including Salle Wilson who was tabbed the SUN Player to Watch for Coastal Georgia.
