Mariners Drop Close Contest to St. Thomas

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Coastal Georgia women's basketball team (5-18, 3-10) fell to St. Thomas (19-6, 10-3) by a score of 65-54 on Saturday.

The Mariners were led by Gabby Litvak who dropped in 12 points on 4-7 shooting from the three-point line. Litvak also grabbed down five rebounds and recorded a blocked shot. Sonia Forney was the only other Mariner in double figures, recording 10 points and also snagging seven boards.

Forney and Joyce Jordan, the teams leading scorers, had a tough time getting their shots to fall against the Bobcats, shooting a combined 5-23 for the game. Jordan, however, dished out a team-high six assists to help contribute in other ways.

Freshmen Andranique Voorhies and Iesha Rhodin had solid games. Voorhies recorded six points, eight rebounds and three blocks while Rhodin scored seven points, grabbed four boards, had two steals and drew a few charges early in the game.

Kelsey Leedle and Victoria Hickman also contributed on the offensive end, combining for 17 points on 6-13 shooting.

For the Bobcats, Brooke Bogatz and Connieya Bradford led the way. Bogats led the team with 15 points while also dishing out five assists and recording four steals. Bradford recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kasey Gagan and Mya Moye also finished with double-digit points scoring 11 and 10, respectively.
