No. 24 Mariners Complete the Sweep Leave Warriors Scoreless in Series

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The No. 24 Coastal Georgia softball team (23-5, 8-1) completed its sweep of Webber International (10-20, 4-8) on Wednesday afternoon winning by scores of 5-0 and 4-0.

The Warriors are leaving Brunswick having not score a single run. Hayley Dickerson shut them down twice while Bryce Peacock recorded a 13-strikeout no-hitter in game one.

Peacock's 13 strikeouts set a new school record for strikeouts in a single game, overtaking her counterpart Dickerson's record of 12 which was set last season.

Game one was dominated by B. Peacock as, along with her no-hitter, she drove in four runs including a three-run homer to left field in the fifth inning to give the Mariners a comfortable 4-0.

In game two, Kayla Rowell set a new school record for career RBIs after knocking in two runs in the fourth inning to give Coastal Georgia a 2-0 lead and give Rowell 102 career RBI's.

Sarah Thinger extended her streak of reaching base safely to 11 after going a combined 3-8 in both games.

McCall Maret was solid from the plate in game two, going 2-3 and scoring run.

MacKenzie Kagee also had a nice day, going 3-6 through both games and knocking in two runs in game two.

Melani Jones saved a run-in game two throwing out a Webber runner who was trying to go home on a single up the middle. Jones immediately made her regret that decision as she got the throw to Rowell in plenty of time to preserve the shutout.

UP NEXT: The Mariners will travel to Florida Memorial on for another Sun Conference series beginning on Friday, Mar. 31 and ending on Saturday, Apr. 1.
