VONORE, Tenn. - The College of Coastal Georgia shot a third round 290 to win the Bojangles Fall Classic by 17 strokes over the Dalton State Roadrunners on Tuesday, while freshman Jake Ackerman shot a one under 71 to secure individual medalist honors, winning by three strokes.
Ackerman continued his solid play over the weekend as the Tampa native shot three consecutive rounds under par to secure his first collegiate victory in a Mariners uniform.Â
Antonio Juarbe matched Ackerman in round three with a one under 71 performance to secure a 13th place finish, Brad Hammock finished strong at one over par, Bo Shuler shot a 75 in his final round, and Finley Burke finished with a 78. Shuler finished top 20 while Hammock and Burke finished inside the top 30, putting all five Mariners in the top 30 on the leader board.Â
Dalton State finished in second place after shooting three under par in their third round, with Blue Mountain, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Faulkner rounding out the top five.Â
The Mariners are now finished with their fall schedule as they will resume in their spring competition season in February.Â
