The Coastal Georgia women's golf team competed at the Blue Mountain-hosted BMCU Spring Classic, playing three rounds at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi — a par-72 layout measuring 5,924 yards. The Mariners posted rounds of +30, +34, and +32 for a cumulative score of +96, finishing in fourth place.
William Carey claimed the team title at +66, with Dalton State finishing second at +75 and Loyola (LA) taking third at +90. Coastal Georgia's fourth-place finish came ahead of Freed-Hardeman (+127) and Bethel (+131).
Elise Forberg led the Mariners individually, finishing fifth in the player leaderboard at +15 overall. She posted consistent rounds of +4, +4, and +7 to serve as the anchor of Coastal Georgia's lineup throughout the event. Forberg was the only Mariner to crack the top five individually, making her one of the more reliable scorers in the field across all three days.
Madelyn Taylor provided solid support, carding rounds of +4, +11, and +7 to finish at +22 for the tournament. Morgan Herring showed improvement as the week progressed, going +15, +7, and +10 across the three rounds. Carlin Paulk and Anniston Grantham rounded out the lineup, finishing at +31 and +34 respectively, with both players showing flashes in spots but struggling to put together a complete three-round performance.
Statistically, the Mariners ranked T2nd in par-3 scoring average at 3.35 and 3rd in par-5 scoring average at 5.25, showing their best golf came on the course's most demanding and most forgiving holes.
Coastal Georgia will look to build on Forberg's strong individual showing and tighten up its scoring depth as the season moves forward.
