After taking over the College of Coastal Georgia women's basketball program at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season and serving in an interim head coaching role for a year through 2024-25, Corey Harris was officially promoted in July 2025 to the full time head coaching position, losing the "interim" title and moving forward for CCGA Women's Basketball. Prior to his 2023-24 stint as interim women's basketball head coach, Harris had spent the previous season on the bench of both the men's and women's teams as an assistant coach. He was part of the men's coaching staff for two seasons and made his debut coaching the women's team in 2023.

Harris led the Mariners to a 12-12 overall record and a 5-11 conference record in his first season being officially at the helm of the program, winning the second most games in school history by a first year head coach, trailing only Jonathon Barbaree, who began his career with a 13-17 record in the 2014-15 season.

Harris played basketball at Coastal Georgia in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons under Head Coach Jesse Watkins. He currently ranks 5th in career steals and assists as well as second in career free throw percentage. He graduated in 2017 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies.

After graduation, Harris coached at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In his assistant coach role for the 2017-2018 season, he coached four all-district selections. The team had a 26-8 record and they qualified for the State Tournament for the second time in school history and the first time since 1987.

Following his time as a high school coach, he moved up to the collegiate level. Harris was the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Rio Grande for three seasons. In 2020-21 the team recorded a 19-10 record and qualified for the National tournament for the first time since 2003. He coached an NAIA player of the year, two first team all-conference selections, three second team all-conference selections, five academic all-conference selections, and one NAIA All-American.

Harris lives in Brunswick with his fiance Tori Pelphrey and their two children, son Seven and daughter Sunny.
