Montgomery, Ala. – The College of Coastal Georgia women's volleyball team lost both of its matches Friday on the first day of the Faulkner Invitational.
The Mariners lost their tournament opener 3-0 to Webber International and also dropped its second match 3-0 to Warner University.
The loss to Webber was the second for the Mariners (5-6) this season. They also lost to Webber 3-2 at the Webber tri-match on the opening weekend of the season two weeks ago.
Meantime, the Mariners had beaten Warner that same day by 3-1 for its first victory of the season in the season's third match, but Warner avenged the loss with Friday's blanking of the Mariners.
In Friday's action, Holly Hammer and Kara Neisen both totaled 11 kills. Alex Powell had 12 digs in the loss to Warner.
The Mariners will look to rebound when they face Lindsey Wilson and Bryan College on Saturday.
