Volleyball Plays Webber Int'l in Final Away Game

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team will face Webber International on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

The Mariners (7-13, 3-9) will be playing in their final road game of the season and will need a win to keep their postseason chances alive.

The Warriors (12-11, 6-6) have won their last three conference games and are sitting at fourth in the SUN standings with a chance to clinch its spot in the Sun Conference Tournament.

HISTORY-

Webber got the better of Coastal Georgia last time they played as the Warriors fended off the reverse sweep attempt by the Mariners to escape with a 3-2 win in Brunswick. The Mariners lead the series 13-8 all-time however and would like to extend that win percentage.

BY THE NUMBERS-

The Warriors and Mariners rank one and two in the SUN, respectively, for blocks per set this season.
Savanna Wilhite (0.93) and Cintia Lorena (0.79) lead the way in terms of blocking for Webber.
Chantiya Johnson leads the SUN with 1.12 blocks per set as teammate Cassidy Casey has jumped into the top 10 averaging 0.68 blocks per set.
Casey also ranks fourth in the SUN for hitting percentage at .278.
Raevyn Russell continues her All-Conference campaign as she is averaging 3.07 kills and 3.48 points per set.
Six different Mariners have 90 or more digs on the season including Kira Matthias (90), Jenna Rogers (94), Rebecca Brown (108), Julia Neveu (118), Sara Hansen (121) and Skylar Gribben (139).
Freshmen Luci Marinella and Delaney Wilson got a chance to showcase their talents against Florida Memorial as they played in all three set. Marinella finished with a career-high in assists (13) and digs (7) while Wilson tied her career-high in kills (3) while adding two blocks and two digs.
