Mount Vernon, Ga. - The College of Coastal Georgia women's volleyball team notched a 3-0 victory on Tuesday night at Brewton-Parker in a Southern States Athletic Conference match.
The Mariners won by scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-21.
With the win, the Mariners improved to 14-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The victory was the second this season for Coastal Georgia over the Barons. The Mariners opened conference play with a 3-0 victory over the Barons on Sept. 17 in Brunswick.
In Tuesday night's match,sophomore outside hitter Kara Neisen led the offensive attack with 12 kills and finished hitting .450 for the match. She also added six digs. Freshman setter Cayley Meiners totaled 27 assists. She also had six kills and wound up hitting .667 for the contest.
Amanda Kline played well at the net with three blocks. Maggie Bee led the defensive effort with 19 digs.
Also, Rachel Amudson, Allie Shannon and Meiners also had three aces apiece.
The Mariners will return home for conference matches this weekend, facing Loyola at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Belhaven at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches are at Howard Coffin Gym.
