Mount Vernon, Ga. – The College of Coastal Georgia women's volleyball team won 3-0 at Brewton-Parker on Tuesday night to open up a week that includes three road matches in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
With the win over the struggling Barons (1-22 overall, 0-14 confernce), the Mariners (22-1, 14-0) remained unbeaten in league play.
They will remain on the road for matches this weekend in Tennesee against Bethel on Friday and Martin Methodist on Saturday.
The Mariners beat both teams earlier this season. They also had already beaten Brewton-Parker last month at home.
Coastal Georgia moved up a spot to No. 23 in this week's national poll which was released earlier on Tuesday.
Against the Barons, the Mariners won the sets by scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-15.
Rachel Amundson led the team with 13 kills and hit .458 for the match. Allie Shannon, Kara Neisen and Amanda Kline all had eight kills each.
Cayley Meiners notched 37 digs in the victory. Jennifer Johnson led Coastal Georgia with 14 digs.
The Barons hit minus-0.011 for the match with 17 kills and 18 errors in 88 total attacks.
