Gainesville, Ga. - The College of Coastal Georgia finished out its three-match road trip this week with a 3-0 triumph over Brenau Saturday afternoon in another Southern States Athletic Conference match.
The Mariners improved to 16-5 overall and 9-1 in the SSAC with the win. The Golden Tigers dropped to 5-15 and 2-8 with the loss.
The Mariners opened the trip with a 3-1 win Thursday at Faulkner before winning 3-0 Friday at Dalton State.
On Saturday, the Mariners got a big match from Rachel Amundon who led the team's offense with 12 kills while also finishing with 19 digs to record a double-double for the day. She also received 10 serves without making an error.
Also for the Mariners, Kyra White finished with nine kills and Allie Shannon added eight. Cayley Meiners recorded 32 assists in the win.
The Mariners had 40 kills and 21 errors in 119 attempts and finished hitting just .160 for the match.
Brenau had 31 kills and 22 errors in 113 attacks and would hit just .080 for the afternoon. Jasmine Jones led the team with 12 kills.
For Coastal Georgia, Jennifer Johnson followed Amundson with nine digs while Meiners, Alyssa Keeve and Hannah Mitchell finished with seven each.
The Mariners had six total blocks as they had 12 assisted blocks at the net. White led the effort with four.
