Volleyball Ready for Round Two of SUN Play

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team (6-9, 2-5) is set to start the second-half of Sun Conference play with its match against Southeastern University on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.

The Mariners are coming off back-to-back losses after falling in a hard-fought match to Webber International 3-2 before dropping their match against No. 24 St. Thomas.

The Fire (14-3, 6-1) will enter Wednesday's match against Coastal on a four-game win streak in SUN play.

HISTORY-

These two teams faced off to begin conference play this season. The Fire took the match 3-1, but Coastal was right with them as every set was decided by four or less points. The Mariners still lead the series 13-10 all-time and will look to add to that win column on Wednesday.

BY THE NUMBERS-

Southeastern enters the match with the second most points per set (16.08) and second-best hitting percentage (.223) in the Sun Conference.
The Mariners are fourth in the conference in blocks per set (1.91) and have limited opponents blocks all season, allowing just 1.48 against them.
Raevyn Russell leads the team in both kills per set (2.94) and points per set (3.27) and also ranks in the top 10 in the SUN for both categories.
