Mariners Look to Improve SUN Standing Against Warner

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team will host Warner University on Wednesday Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Howard Coffin Gym.

The Mariners (6-11, 2-7) are coming off a 3-2 loss to Ave Maria over the weekend and will look to further solidify their spot in the SUN standings with postseason play looming.

The Royals (4-11, 2-7) also enter Wednesday's contest with a loss and will be looking to jump Coastal in the rankings for the sixth and final spot in the Sun Conference Tournament.

HISTORY-

The Mariners won the last match up 3-1 against the Royals and are 14-4 all-time against them. Warner was able to even the season series last year, but Coastal will look to go for the sweep and up its conference win total from last season.

BY THE NUMBERS-
  • Chantiya Johnson has been dominant all season as she leads the Mariners with 0.96 blocks per set which is top five in school history for a single season.
  • Raevyn Russell leads the team in both kills per set (2.95) and points per set (3.32) and ranks in the top 10 in the conference for both categories.
  • Paula Perez Rosales looks to be getting back into the swing of things after going for 15 kills against Ave Maria and has racked up 41 kills over the last four matches.
