Coastal Georgia to Host Warriors in Pink Out Match

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team is prepared to host Webber International on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Coffin Gym.

The Mariners (6-7, 2-3) are coming off back-to-back sweeps, beating both LaGrange College and Florida Memorial 3-0. Coastal will look to get back to .500 with a win.

The Warriors (8-7, 2-3) are also coming off two straight wins and, like the Mariners, are aiming to get back to .500 in SUN play before the back half of conference play starts.

HISTORY-

The Mariners are 13-7 against the Warriors all-time. Coastal Georgia has also won 9 of the last 10 matches against them, including an exciting 3-2 reverse sweep victory its last time facing Webber.

BY THE NUMBERS-

The Warriors are the best blocking team in the Sun Conference this season. They are averaging 2.31 blocks per set led by Savanna Wilhite and Cintia Lorena who both rank top five in the conference for blocks per set.
The Mariners are a solid blocking team themselves, averaging 1.9 blocks per set. Coastal Georgia has also done a good job of limiting teams blocks against them, as they have the lowest number of blocks per set against them in the conference. Per usual with the Mariners, it will be a battle at the net.
Coastal Georgia has a plethora of heavy hitters on its squad: Raevyn Russell, Paula Perez Rosales, Cassidy Casey and Sydney Martin. The Mariners will look to this group that combines for 75.7 percent of the kills to be firing on all cylinders come Wednesday night.

The game will be 'Pink Out' in observation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support those who fight against breast cancer and others who are effected by it.
