Volleyball Set for Season Debut

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The Coastal Georgia volleyball team will begin its season on the road as they compete in the Milligan Mountain Madness Tournament hosted by Milligan University. The Mariners will play four matches with the first being on Friday, Aug. 25 against Buffaloes at 2:30 p.m.

Following their match against the host team, the Mariners will face Georgetown University (Ky.) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday before facing No. 12 Taylor University (3-1) at 12 p.m. and (RV) Blue Mountain University (1-0) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.

The Buffaloes have brought in a good field of competition, as the Mariners will face their first ranked opponent since playing Keiser twice in 2020.

2023 Things to Watch:

- Senior setter Rebecca Brown is just eight assists away from reaching the 1,000 assists as a Mariner.
- Junior Sydney Martin comes into this season as the programs career leader in blocks per set.
- Seniors Skylar Gribben and Madison Heskett return this season after getting injuried early in 2022.
- The Mariners welcome in nine new players and two new coaches as the program looks to get back on track this season.
