BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The first tournament of the young 2024-25 season has come and gone for the College of Coastal Georgia women's golf team as they fired a second round 307 to finish fourth in the Coastal Georgia Women's Fall Invitational on Tuesday. 

Carlin Paulk dazzled in her first tournament of her junior season as she shot the low round of the day for the Mariners, a one under 71. After making bogeys on two of her first five holes, the Waycross native did not have another all round as she birdied three times in the final 13 holes to propel her all the way to a runner up finish. Elise Forberg, who started the day inside the top five finished in 11th after shooting nine over in her second round. 

Madelyn Taylor improved her standing by one as she finished 16th on the afternoon with a second round of eight over, Morgan Herring improved by five shots from round one to round two shooting six over to finish 20th, and Claire Wickes improved six strokes moving from 35th to 24th on the leaderboard. 

Individually, Madison Melton dropped six strokes and shot a 78 in round two to finish inside the top 25, Laura Kate Kessler finished 10 over in her second round but still finished 18th on the tournament, and freshman Abigail Robinson completed her first collegiate tournament in 54th position on the leaderboard. 

Southeastern took home the trophy shooting 21 over for the tournament, followed by Milligan, Truett-McConnell, CCGA, and Freed-Hardeman. Marlie Smit was the individual winner shooting five under for the tournament, clearing Paulk by seven strokes. 

The women return to action next Monday and Tuesday as they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla to the Seahawk Sailboat Shootout hosted by Keiser.
