BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The Sun Conference has released their men's and women's tennis preseason polls, and the College of Coastal Georgia mariners find themselves inside the top six of both polls as the men rank fourth while the women come in at sixth.
In the first season of the Christie Arias era of Mariner tennis, CCGA has big expectations for the 2024-25 season as the men are looking to make their fourth straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament while the women look to get back to their winning ways after what some might consider a down year in 2023-24.
With the winningest coach in program history, Zack Rogers, being promoted to Director of Athletics ahead of the 2024-25 athletic year, the Coastal Georgia tennis program will have an all new look and feel moving forward.
The Marienrs men finished their 2023-24 season with an 8-9 record, a semi-final appearance in the Sun Conference tournament, and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament while the women finished 4-8 overall with their season coming to an end in the quarterfinal round of the Sun Conference tournament.
The women will begin their season on January 30 with an exhibition against Georgia Southwestern while the men will have to wait until February 11 when both teams travel to Tifton for a match with Abraham Baldwin.
