SILVIS, Ill. - Due to multiple tornado warnings and rain in the Michigan area, the Men's Golf NAIA National Championship has been forced to change format for the remainder of the tournament.
With none of the teams being able to finish their first round and half the field not even starting the round, the NAIA has decided to pivot the tournament. The National Championship will now be a 54 hole tournament with the first round concluding tomorrow. Round two will now commence on Thursday.
Following tomorrow's completion of the first round and Thursday's second round, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and ties, and the top six individuals not on one of those teams. The final round is slated for 8 a.m. CT on Friday, May 23.
Wednesday's first round resumes at 9:00 a.m. EST with those teams and individuals who were on the course when play was stopped. The afternoon tee times are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. EST.
