SILVIS, Ill. - The College of Coastal Georgia men's golf team currently sits right on the cutline with 18 holes until the cut after a first round 296 put the Mariners in a tie for 15th place going into round two.
With the weather finally slacking off for some golf, the Mariners were able to finish their first round that they started on Tuesday, led by Antonio Juarbe who shot a one under 70 to begin the national tournament for a top 15 finish in the first round. Lee Smith was the only other Mariner inside the top 50 in 42th place after a two over 73. Bo Shuler finished five over, Finley Burke finished six over, and Brad Hammock wrapped up the scoring with an eight over in round one.
Wayland Baptist leads the tournament at four under par, leading Dalton State by four strokes. Oklahoma City, Lindsey Wilson, and Texas Wesleyan round out the top five.
The second round will commence from TPC Deere Run tomorrow morning.
