AVE MARIA, Fla. – No. 22 Coastal Georgia women's tennis rolled by Ave Maria 9-0 in the Mariners' first match of the spring season.

Doubles
Only two of the three doubles matches were played out as Ave Maria did not have a team for the No. 3 doubles court. Both Mariner doubles teams won their matches by 8-1 scores. Jasmine Carswell and Samantha Lasslett took a No. 1 doubles victory over Amanda Grebosky and Colleen Herrmann. On the No. 2 court, Sonja Wind and Lindsey Lawing defeated Camila Branstner and Averie Harkey.

Singles
Similar to doubles, only five of the six singles matches were played as the Gyrenes did not have an entry for No. 6 singles. Both Madeline Garner and Paige DeLaPerriere won their matches in straight sets. Garner got her win at No. 5 against Therese Sadusky, while DeLaPerriere defeated Harkey in the No. 4 slot.

Lindsey Lawing overpowered Herrmann 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, and Wind took a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Branster on the No. 2 court. Lasslett came back to defeat Grebosky 4-6, 6-0, 10-8.

Coastal Georgia is on its home court next. After a Friday scrimmage, the Mariners host St. Thomas on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Marta B. Torrey Tennis Complex.
