MACON, Ga. – No. 22 Coastal Georgia women's tennis fell 7-2 to No. 19 Cumberland on Friday afternoon in a neutral-site match.

Doubles
Coastal Georgia took an early 1-0 lead in the match. Samantha Sepe and Jasmine Carswell cruised to an 8-1 win against Ana Maria Callazos and Jasmine Shankar at No. 1 doubles.
 

However, Cumberland came back to win the next two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Sonja Wind and Samantha Lasslett fell 8-4 to Ainhoa Garijo Garrido at Joana Bou at No. 2 doubles. Madeline Garner and Lindsey Lawing dropped an 8-6 match to Marianela Landi and Stefanie Navaratnam in the No. 3 slot.

Singles
Cumberland went up 4-1 after winning the first two singles matches. Garrido defeated Carswell 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Landi won 7-5, 6-2 against Sepe at No. 2.

Wind's 6-3, 6-3 victory over Bou in the No. 3 position made it a 4-2 match, but it was the Mariners' final point as Cumberland score the last three singles points.

Lasslett dropped a 6-1, 6-4 match at No. 4 singles to Belen Salazar Yanez. Callazos tripped up Garner 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5, and DeLaPerriere fell 6-2, 6-4 against Navaratnam on the No. 6 court.

The Mariners play twice on Saturday, facing Middle Georgia State at 10 a.m. and Indiana Wesleyan at 3 p.m.
