BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The No. 22 Coastal Georgia Mariners (5-3, 2-3) fell 2-5 to the No. 18 Ave Maria Gyrenes (9-5, 3-2) in the Sun Conference match. 

Doubles: 

• Arthur Figuiere and Lucas Landaluce lost at the no. 1 doubles line 2-6 to the pair of Gyrenes. 
• Ramon Martinez Ferrer and Mohamed Belcora secured the no. 2 doubles line with a 6-3 victory. 
• Bautista Chiaradia and Agustin Leguizamon earned the Mariners the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at the no. three doubles line.

Singles; 

• Figuiere lost a tough match at line one. He fell 3-6, 4-6 to Cruz from Ave Maria. 
• Martinez Ferrer also fell at line two but he took his match into three sets. He won the first set 6-0, handily beating his opponent but lost the second 3-6. His big serve was not enough to power him through the third which he lost 6-7(5). 
• Landaluce could not defeat his opponent at line three, but he also took his match into three sets. Landaluce won the first set 6-2, lost the second and the third 3-6, 4-6. 
• Belcora was the only Mariner to win at the singles lines. He won his match 6-2 in the first set, lost 2-6 in the second, and beat his opponent with a 6-3 victory in the third. 
• Chiaradia fell in two sets at the no five singles line. He lost 4-6 in set one and 2-6 in set two. 
• Felix Arroyo Viglino was not able to overcome his opponent at the no. six singles line. He lost 5-7 in the first set and 3-6 in the second. 

Coaches Corner: 

"Another tough match for the guys today. We came out ready for doubles and locked up the first point of the match with solid play at lines 2&3. In singles, we just couldn't find our footing and Ave Maria took the momentum back in a flash. Simo was steady and was able to grind out a win at line 4. Ramon and Lucas were right there at lines 2&3 but came out on the wrong end of tough 3-set matches. Our men's team is capable of competing with the nation's elite, but we have taken a couple of punches these last couple of matches, and we are going to have to decide whether we are going to get up off the mat or stay down for the count. We are going to take the next 24 hours off, but after that, we will be back on the court putting in work and preparing to make a push for postseason play." said Head Coach Zack Rogers.
