No. 20 Mariners Host No. 8 Gyrenes in Sun Conference Clash

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The No. 20 Coastal Georgia men's tennis team (6-1, 1-0) will host No. 8 Ave Maria (4-2, 0-0) on Friday, Mar. 24 at 11 am at the Marta B. Torrey Tennis Complex located on the campus of Coastal Georgia.

The Mariners have had 11 days to prepare since their last match which was a 7-0 win against Georgetown College. This will be the first home match for the men's team this season, the women hosted Brenau University last week where they won 4-3.

The Gyrenes played earlier in the week, defeating Florida National University by a score of 6-1. Ave Maria has already had some impressive outings, defeating No. 8 Xavier 4-0 and falling to No. 7 William Carey by a score of 3-4. This will be the Gyrenes first look at Sun Conference play while the Mariners have already played SCAD-Savannah.

For the Mariners, the doubles paring of Lucas Landaluce and Aymeric Bruno has been dominant all season, going 7-0. Newcomers Adrien Guye, Santiago Speranza and Trey Maust are all undefeated in singles play so far this season.

Historically, the Mariners are 3-2 against the Gyrenes, but have lost their last two matches up against the conference foe. Coastal Georgia will look to get back in control of the series with a win on its home court.
