Coastal Georgia Outpaces Warner in 95–84 Shootout Win

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Coastal Georgia men's basketball team delivered one of its strongest offensive performances of the young season on Saturday, powering past Warner 95–84 in a fast-paced, high-scoring matchup at Howard Coffin Gym.

From the opening tip, both teams pushed the tempo, trading baskets throughout a tightly contested first half that featured nine lead changes. Coastal Georgia's efficiency proved to be the separator, as the Mariners shot an impressive 62.5 percent from the field before halftime and took a 49–45 lead into the break.

Coastal Georgia's depth took over in the second half. The Mariners' bench erupted for 51 total points, providing sustained energy and scoring that Warner struggled to match. Khylan McKennie led that charge with a game-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including several momentum-swinging drives that helped push the lead into double figures late in the game. Alexandre Zambonetti added 12 points off the bench, scoring in key moments to fend off Warner's attempts to close the gap.

The Mariners also received balanced production from their starting group. Derrick "Mannie" Har and Isaiah Edden each tallied 11 points while combining for eight assists and nine rebounds. Kycean Pruett knocked down two three-pointers and finished with nine points, while Thaddeus Burns controlled the backcourt pace and passed out six assists.

Defensively, Coastal Georgia tightened up in the final minutes, limiting Warner to contested jumpers and forcing timely turnovers that prevented a late comeback. The Mariners dominated inside with 44 points in the paint and secured a 30–29 rebounding edge while generating 17 second-chance points.

Warner kept the game tight behind strong performances from Josh Irwin, Jack Voth, and Jamal Norris, who combined for 53 of the Royals' 84 points. But Coastal Georgia's efficiency—shooting 56.7 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc—steadily created separation as the second half progressed.

With the win, Coastal Georgia improves to 3–4 on the season and 1–0 in conference play, picking up valuable momentum as they continue their early season run.
